Inside Komlife's 20,000 m² laundry detergent factory in Hung Yen, Vietnam

Inside Komlife's 20,000 m² laundry detergent factory in Hung Yen, Vietnam

In short: Komlife’s factory is in Tu Ho village, Viet Yen commune, Hung Yen province, in northern Vietnam. It covers 20,000 m², opened in 2018, and its management systems are certified to ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 14001:2015. Capacity is around 6,000,000 products a year. Every product of our five brands (SPY, URA, Abby, Givebe, Eddy) is made here, and we also offer OEM/ODM manufacturing under your own brand.

From a small workshop to a 20,000 m² factory

Komlife Vietnam started on 19 May 2010 as a small workshop making the first cans of SPY laundry liquid. As demand grew, the company opened its own factory in Hung Yen in 2018 and brought the whole production chain in-house: mixing, filling, quality control and packing all happen inside the factory, with no third parties. In 2020 the factory received ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certification from TNV Certification Vietnam.

Here is a walk through the factory, following the path of one can of laundry liquid.

1. Raw materials

Liquid raw materials are stored in stainless steel and dedicated tanks outside the production hall. Fragrance is what defines each product line; Komlife uses fragrances from international suppliers, including the Mane fragrance house (France). See our raw material partners on the Quality & Standards page.

2. Water treatment

Water makes up most of a bottle of laundry liquid or fabric softener, so incoming water passes through a set of filtration columns before it reaches the mixing tanks. Consistent water means consistent colour, thickness and scent from batch to batch.

3. Mixing hall

In the stainless steel mixing tanks, water, surfactants, fragrance and additives are combined according to each product’s formula. Every batch has its own records and retained samples for later reference, so any bottle can be traced back to the batch and day it was made.

4. Filling and capping

Once a batch passes its checks, it is filled into bottles, cans and pouches on the line and capped. The same factory fills many sizes: small household bottles, 3–3.6 kg pouches, 5.2 kg cans and 9-litre cans for heavy users.

5. Finishing and batch coding

At the final stage, products are finished by hand before being packed into cartons. The production date and batch number are printed directly on the bottle rather than on a removable sticker, one of the three signs we recommend for recognising genuine products.

6. Finished goods warehouse

Cartons are stored by product line, then shipped to distributors, dealers, supermarkets and online stores across Vietnam. Dealers can buy directly from the factory (see Distributor partnership).

7. Wastewater treatment

The factory has its own wastewater treatment system with a capacity of 25 m³ per day, built together with the factory in 2018. It is part of our environmental management system under ISO 14001:2015.
